I was invited as a consultant’s guest 2 nights ago. I’ve heard of Mary kay before but never really considered getting into it. It was that night that I learned about the incentives & the great opportunities. Part of me is the optimist that can see myself planning makeup parties & gathering potential clients, but the realist in me is so afraid of failure & possibly falling more financially than where I am now. Please help me decide whether to take a risk or to stay still.

I’m looking to do something on the side just for fun really. I live in a small town so we have alot of Mary Kay and Avon people already. What other kinds of makeup can you be an independent sales rep for?
me and my mother are moving to alaska next month and she sells mary kay products and does fairly well in the state we live in now… but we’re not really sure if continuing in alaska would be a good idea .. and do you think recruiting would be easier ??
I want to sell either Mary Kay or Avon. Has anyone sold either one? Whats the pros and cons? Is it a good idea or not? Does anyone know if you have to pay to get started?
my friend is throwing a mary kay birthday party and i was wondering what do you exactly do at one? i think it has something to do with makeup
thanks
I have make up left over from Mary Kay and need to find out if I can use it. I have had it for five years . It is lip stick, eye pencil, eye shadow, etc.?
My wife sells Avon and I know a woman who sells Mary Kay and they both do ok for a extra lump of change in their pockets. No getting rich but buys extra toys and stuff, but is there anything like this for men?
Sorry I just mean what else is there like the 2 I mentioned and I know Avon has a men section.
I’m always hearing about how much money some women make working as a sales rep for Mary Kay…but I have never seen any male reps. Why not? Do you think a man can be successful at selling Mary Kay?
I have medium skin tone ( i got tanned from the sun a lil bit but i plan on getting tanner this summer ) green eyes ( very green ) and blonde hair. Which color or mary kays lip gloss look best on me
I am interested in making some extra money on the side… i am pregnant and will be giving birth in a couple of weeks and im not working but my husband is and I want to atleast help and make some money on the side. So I was thinking about Avon and Mary Kay but I don’t know how they work…can someone give me info on weather it is good working with them. Thanks
I own a little store and wonder if I can sell Mary Kay in it as a consultant? Is there anything that says I can or can’t if I am already an independant consultant?
I have just recently moved to China from the USA and had to purchase some Mary Kay Time Wise Miracle products. In the USA I would of paid about for the products and in China it is twice this much. I paid 0.00 for the same in China. Why is this? I would have thought the price would have been consistent in every country. I was so disappointed………….
I paid 1288 rmb which equates to 0.00 US dollars . It is {content}.14 to one of our dollars.
Have you ever been to one or hosted one? Or are you a Mary Kay consultant or whatever they’re called? What goes on at these parties exactly? Do they help you choose makeup colors that suit your skin tone? Do they give you a chance to buy items right there at the party? Sorry for all the questions!
I like Mary Kay makeup better than Avon. But Avon has some good stuff too. It seems as far as selling goes, Mary Kay has more terms and conditions for its sellers. I’m not sure I could keep up with all that. But there are tons of Avon reps in my area so I don’t really know who to sell to. Which one is easier to sell?
What has been your experience working for Mary Kay? I’m considering working for them, but am unsure whether I should or not, and want to hear other people’s stories/advice.
Also, how in the world do you manage to get clients/customers?! I don’t know many people, and don’t want to be bugging my family and friends to attend "parties."
I am an Independent Beauty consultant with Mary Kay. I absolutely love it and have been doing it for over a year. I was able to quit my full time bank job because of it. My problem is this, when my husband tries to promote my business at his work he says people think that Mary Kay is for old ladies. I am 26 years old and don’t agree with that perception one bit. Nevertheless, it appears to be a perception that is out there. So I guess my question is this: Is that your perception of Mary Kay and what can I do in my personal business or what can I suggest to MK corporate that they do to get rid of that perception?
Feel free to take a look at my website for furthur info: www.marykay.com/jennrego. I can be emailed privately at jennrego@marykay.com Thank you for any help you can provide!
For the people who think that the books/website could be better geared towards a younger crowd, will you please take a look at my website and give me your opinion of it?

Some people say they find Mary Kay products too expensive… Did you know that Mary Kay is the #1 selling brand in the US (according to the Wall Street journal) and that out of the top ten, Mary Kay is the least expensive…
I recently stopped selling Mary Kay. Just wondering how I need to handle taxes for this. Anyone know what I need to do?
I’ve been in the Mary Kay business for a little over a year. I’ve spent more money buying inventory then selling. I don’t have the money right now to keep buying products and I don’t know if I want to do the 90% buyback because I might want the option to be a rep again in the future. Any suggestions on where I can sell my products?
I love the makeup but I don’t know how to get it anymore. I moved to a new city and i need a new Mary Kay lady!!
i live in akron ohio
i have relatives who do this for a living, and i keep hearing that everything BUT mary kay is contaminated with lead, and that it doesn’t clog your pores, it is hypoallergenic, and that it is the best quality out there.
of course mary kay will tell you this, but how much of that is really true?
Looking for beauty products that can be sold as an independent agent like Mary Kay and Avon.
Hello! Ijust signed up with Mary Kay last night to be a consultant, which is wonderful! But the thing is, I am moving to Tenn. is August. I was wondering if anyone knew if I am able to keep my current clients when it comes time to move? Or do they start buying from someone else and I have to start all over again when I move? Any help would be appreciated!!
Recently, I met a girl work in Mary Kay. She is smilling all the time. Is the selling environment in Mary Kay so good that there is no bad time for them? I am doubt about it. Can you tell me the real life to work as a seller in Mary Kay?
I want to start selling cosmetics and accessories but avon and mary-kay already has a bunch of beauty reps in my town so I wanted to try one that was new but reliable and not so expensive any ideas??
I am thinking of starting to sell Mary Kay and I want to know everyone’s honest opinions of the skin care and make-up line. I enjoy the artistry of cosmetics. I am a teacher, but don’t make much money. Is Mary Kay really a realistic venue for boosting my income?
