I have a situation and wondered if anyone with legal knowledge could shed some light on it: I’ve been boarding my horse and prepaid 3 months in advance (through March). Since that time my horse got Strangles from and outbreak at the ranch–brought on by the fact that they are always bringing in track rescues and not vaccinating them and they have 20-30 horses together in a pasture and nose touching pretty much available everywhere…anyway, now because of their mud situation they are housing horses in the round pen and arenas so I can’t use them most of the time, and they have a bunch of horses with rain rot and I’m afraid my horse will get it. They’ve also moved him to a much smaller paddock b/c of the mud. My contract requires 30-day notice, and I can’t find anything about obligation for standard of care on their part (I know, I was dumb to sign it). Does a health/safety risk give me ground to ask for my money back and move now with only a few days notice?
to clarify: this place was fine when I moved in or I would not have gone there. It’s recently gone down hill and I gave them some time to recover and fix things up, but I’ve found a much safer, nicer place for less money and things are still bad at the original place.

if i purchase the song? if it is legal, how do i pay for it without giving a credit card number? does limewire have any prepaid card thing like itunes?

~my cousin had bearshare, unfortunately one of the songs had a virus which ruined her ipod. I really need a couple of songs that arent on itunes. if limewire isnt safe, what other safe site can i use to purchase songsbesides itunes?

Let’s say the landlord has me in a 12 month lease with 10 months remaining. I decide I want to pay my rent in cash, but the landlord refuses. Can the landlord refuse to accept legal tender?

My understanding is that legal tender can be refused for future purchases (like food at McDonalds where you prepay) but not for debt that is owed (like after you eat at a sit down restaurant).

Although rent is prepaid a month in advance, it is a debt that is owed whether you live there or not.

i have a prepaid phone so it doesn’t hook into the computer do you know any places that are legal and i can get ring tones that are songs that i could like say the number and it will send it

trying to cancel prepaid legal and identity theft service plans. Non of the fax lines work and 2 of 3 phone lines are unusable. Without being able to email it will be hard for me to tract my cancellation and stop their ACH debits from my checking account

I’d like to offer 0 prepaid gas cards to my employees every month and structure it as a tax free benefit.
I’d pay less as an employer and they would get the gas card with "pre tax" dollars.

In the end, a 0 gas card, instead of cash compensation, would be like the employee receiving 0-5 post tax dollars.

Any LEGAL ideas?

The pre-payment was "non-refundable" though I did not know it at the time. The company (PSI) has not provided me with a copy of the document that they say I signed (though I have asked for it). I tried to get someone to take the seminar in my place, which was allowable, but the company kept "changing the rules" and ultimately alienated my intended replacement. I have copies of the e-mail exchanges of this failed effort to recoup my funds. I have written several letters (the last one sent certified mail) and am simply being ignored. They have made no attempt at even trying to work out a compromise solution. Do I have any legal recourse? If small claims court (California) is an option, are punitive damages applicable? I feel ripped off by a company that I thought had some degree of principle (awareness seminars???). What are my options?

I’m about to purchase Prepaid legal services(llc) Does anyone here have any experience with them. BBB is a runaround. Legal insurance is a practical idea. I can get 50 hours of phone time. a year. Warning: I’m sorry. This may be a bit long. I’ll try to remain as concise as possible.

I recently ended a highly abusive, long-term relationship with my ex-fiance who continues to terrorize me. He has not physically harmed me, but has nontheless damaged me more brutally than any wound could. His tactics have employed manipulation, isolating me from my family and friends, degrading and humiliating me in private, controlling my finances, destroying my self-esteem, blaming me for his setbacks, baiting and switching, dangling the idea of marriage, etc. About a year ago, following an unfortunate event that left my then-fiance arrested and detained a week after the birth of our child, my newborn and I were forced to move in with my mother. With her financial assistance, I was able to both secure an attorney, and [unwisely] post bail for him. After his return, his behaviour toward me became much more abrasive than before, yet I refrained from ending things seeing as he had an impending trial and no place to go. About a year later (this summer) his behaviour and regard toward me became far worse, causing me to ultimately end our relationship for the sake of my sanity and for my child. Unfortunately, he now refuses to leave my mother’s home where I’m being oppressed and held hostage. I have not been granted a peace order seeing as he has never physically harmed me (and won’t, knowing that the evidence will lead back to him). He has called the police on my mother for none other than her asking him to evacuate her home. She was told to file an eviction, which she cannot due seeing that the house is rented and not owned by her. Further, he’s been suddenly and manipulatively assisting our landlord with chores to win favor and keep himself from being evicted.

His behaviour is absurd. He does not work nor financially contribute to either rent, utilities, or food. He engages in porn, spends much of his time on sexual encounter sites meeting women and chatting with them, tying up the phone line as well as having women call my house at absurd hours, and leaving at all hours and returning to play with and kiss my child after whatever activities he has engaged in. He lives in my mother’s living room, which has become filthy. He ravenously devours groceries that are purchased for myself, my mother, and child, then hoards his own food in his room. I have written an eviction notice and sent it to him via certified mail, but he’s conveniently missed it’s delivery and refuses to pick it up from the post office. He’s been asked from months since our breakup to leave, but won’t, feeling entitled to whatever I have that he feels he should be able to share. This person (who’s controlled my every paycheck, who’s left me to walk six miles in December to and from work pregnant) has even manipulated a female police officer to chide me for living with my mother and not "being a women", and threaten that if any of us called the police again, the entire household would be arrested and my daughter taken to foster care.

I live in Maryland. I’m a financially-spent student with no money to relocate and no shelter that will take me in for lack of being beat up. I have tried Legal Aid, The House of Ruth, PrePaid Legal Services, Women’s Law, Turnaround…and virtually NO ONE has been able to help me.

Can you think of a stone I haven’t upturned? A solution that might be feasible that I may not have explored? A resource? An attorney you know? Anything.

I deeply appreciate all of your help. Many thanks.
Thanks for answering.

Angel… I would very much like to leave, but cannot. I haven’t the finances to relocate, and probably won’t for some time.

Jordan… I understand your anger. I’ve been receiving alot of it. I do realize how unwise it was to bail him out, but what he was arrested for had nothing to do with me. His charges were completely unrelated to our domestic issues. And being a frantic young woman whose fiance was arrested five days after the birth of her child, my decisions weren’t very rational at that time.

I realize that at this point, I need to stop crucifying myself for loving with the wrong person, and find a way out. I owe it to my kid. I’m just honestly looking for help. I don’t know what else to do.

we want to get cell phones but we have bad credit… is it legal to use my daughter’s social? Or would that even work? Or what other things can we do to get a cell phone besides the go phones or other prepaid.. we need a family plan & want to drop our home phone & just have cell phones.. The only carriers available in our area is cingular & alltel… thanks
I wanted to add something for all of you who think I would ruin my daughters credit.. for one.. we never owned a credit card, we never ruined our credit… we had a house, & we both worked, then I lost a baby & my husband lost his job, we couldn’t pay the bills & had to give up our house.. now we have horrible credit because of it, even though everything we ever had before then & after then, except our house is always PAID. We would never ruin her credit.. we never imagined ours this way.. & the lawyer who handled us screwed us worse then someone in bankrupcty because we can’t even try to build our credit back up.. So please don’t judge someone you know nothing about, because we NEVER EVEN OWNED A CREDIT CARD when this happened..

I just signed up for Prepaid Legal to support one of my friends, which is a MLM Company, but you have to have a sort of people person personality and I don’t think I have that because I like being by myself a lot and don’t really like meeting new people, but yet when I’m around people I fit in perfectly most of the time. That’s why I asked the question.

Doctor Who is now on Sci-Fi, BBC America, and now in New York on PBS channel 21 (WLIW). In fact most Toys R Us carry Doctor Who toys. So how come whenever I tell people to watch it they act like I’m selling Amway or Prepaid Legal?

I want to buy a house and my real estate agent said his broker wants me to prepay them a commission to gurantee them a commission for investing their time in helping me find a house. He said they would rebate the commission back to me once they received a commission for representing me in th sale. Is this legal ?

A speaker came to my company offering prepaid legal to employees. The monthly cost is about a month. Would this be a good option, or is it too good to be true?

(Me and my husband are child-free by choice, have two cats, one car, and live in a trailer. I work full-time. My husband is on Social Security Disability for refractory epilepsy, and I have epilepsy that is under control right now.)

Preparing for elderly family members, we want to better understand the "rules of the game". We understand that Medicaid does not consider cars as assets, nor do they consider prepaid funeral expenses. Is there a recommended source, with current rules, that describes how to manage the transition from having health to living in a nursing home with Medicaid footing the bill.
This is such a big transition for the family, we want to stay legal, but want to understand our options.
Are financial analysts trained in this aspect of finance?

I received a gift card for Emusic.com, but they have absolutely nothing I’m looking for. What are some other sites I can buy cards for( and it must be legal)?

I would like to work from home or online, BUT I DON’T want to do a network marketing biz. Definetely NO JUICE or health supplements, NO Start Ups, No Recruiting, NO SCAMS, No Prepaid Legal, NO ACN, etc… I want a biz with a definete product or service.

This employer has a policy of not allowing employee’s who would like to have their paycheck directly deposited into an online banking institution that uses prepaid credit cards. Is this legal?
Okay, my question needed more details, the company has a direct deposit program, but are restricting it as stated earlier. The bank is FDIC insured and exists offline.

why was there a Prelaunch and Prepaid Legal associates get to share it first?whats the real money to be made in it.I understand its free to join Blast off but why didnt everybody just wait till its free rather some participate in the Prelaunch.I heard theres some serious money in this.

I want to get a court ordered child support, but I think if I do that he will fight me for full custody. He has said it before. I need to find an affordable lawyer because I can not afford it. I also know he will fight me for custody. Some one please give me adivce on a lawyer. I have heard of prepaid legal but not looked into it too much.
