Is it better to sell Avon or Mary Kay?
I like Mary Kay makeup better than Avon. But Avon has some good stuff too. It seems as far as selling goes, Mary Kay has more terms and conditions for its sellers. I’m not sure I could keep up with all that. But there are tons of Avon reps in my area so I don’t really know who to sell to. Which one is easier to sell?

avon is the number one direct sales company worldwide, and has been around for over 120 years. what does that tell you?
avon has not only skin care and cosmetics, but perfume, hair care, jewelry, purses, shoes, home decor, everything. you don’t limit yourself to one or two types of products, and everyone has heard of avon. their items normally go on sale, so you can easily attract new customers. avon sells more lipsticks than any other brand every year!
there are no quotas with avon. you can make 20-50% commission. only $10 to start!
Mary Kay

Mary Kay
Try Arbonne — the products are all natural, and the profits so much higher than Avon or Mary Kay.
I’d have to agree and say Mary Kay. It’s more popular than Avon. At least it is here (I live in kansas).
Avon is better its been around for years so its reliable, my maw-maw used to sell it God Bless
Actually i sell Avon.. and I love it.. It sells really easily where i live because they are great products and it is very affordable when there is stuff by mary kay that i have gotten from my sister and just for 3 things for my face i spent $100…
I’ve had friends that sell both – Avon sells much faster because most women will immediately want to scroll through a booklet since they also sell things for children……..Word of mouth will get you orders…..
There are pros and cons to both. For example, Avon has jewelry but Mary Kay doesn’t. But since you like Mary Kay makeup better, you would probably be a better salesperson for that brand. People will feel your enthusiasm. And although their selling guidelines are stricter, they aren’t too bad, and one of the best parts of all is…you would be able to get those great Mary Kay products for a REALLY good discount. Once you had a customer base, it wouldn’t be hard work.
If you live in a rich neighborhood, Mary Kay. Otherwise, Avon is much more affordable.
I agree that Mary Kay is a better product even though Avon has some great stuff too.
It’s a tough call – I was recruited to sell Mary Kay but didn’t like that they didn’t disclose much information about how the business works until I had invested my $100. They told me that I could be a successful rep with just that investment. I found out later that there was a time limit for your initial "investment" of products, which ranged in price from $800 or so to over $3,000!. The girl who had recruited me allowed that time to pass and then told me that I had to decide which investment to make in just one day’s time. I think this is a tactic to create a sense of urgency to get people to just dole out money without thinking it through. Also, the person above the girl who recruited me told me she wouldn’t "give me the time of day" for a smaller investment but that she would give full support with an investment over $1,800 (something like that). I pulled out altogether because of that. Very unprofessional.
I think Avon is more straight forward but I don’t know for sure. Products are also more affordable. What about MARK, their new line? They have some great stuff too and it has a fresh new feel to it – it’s not the same ol’ Avon stuff we all grew up with.
Good luck with whatever decision you make.
I would say which ever one you like the most I know that doesn’t sound helpful but really which one do you prefer to use because you need to love what you sell.
as for Mary Kay having terms and conditions I’m not sure what you mean and would be happy to answer any questions.
i recommend Avon, it is much more affordable and easy to sell. it is for all ages and both genders. they have great products!!!!!!
Avon is more affordable, which means you could sell more. Mary Kay products are good, but too expensive.
I love the Avon perfumes and some of the makeup too.
Arbonne or Jafra – both are better at compensation and the rewards for distribs – directors are awesome. My sister in law has been selling Jafra for over 7 yrs and she makes enough money to pay house pymt and bills and has won several paid trips to Las Vegas, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Colorado, Miami, and a car out of it. She has two children and is great at it. They have a wonderful support system for both too.
As they say, "the more, the merrier."
The more products you have to offer, the better the selection.
Don’t liomit yourself to just those two. Add a third choice for your potential customers to choose from. It would mean more income for you, plus you’d be killing two birds with one stone, so to speak.
